Kathleen Rose O'Brien Moore, age 86, a resident of Royal Oak, died April 29, 2010 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak surrounded by her family. She was born January 23, 1924 in Chicago, IL. Kathleen was a longtime employee and volunteer at the National Shrine of the Little Flower. She was also a volunteer for Meals On Wheels and the Royal Oak Public Library. She was beloved by her entire family, a cherished friend to many and known for her open and honest giving from the heart. Her blue shining Irish eyes, warm smile and beautiful spirit will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert M. Moore, whom she married April 17, 1948 at Holy Name Church in Birmingham; daughters, Susan Moore of Minneapolis, MN and Joan Moore of Berea, KY; daughter-in-law, Renee Moore; siblings, Robert W. Marilyn O'Brien and Virginia Tom Kelly; sister-in-law, Elaine O'Brien; and grandchildren, Erin, Kathryn and Dan Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Virginia H. O'Brien; son, Robert M. Moore, Jr.; and brother, J. Kenneth O'Brien. There will be a memorial visitation Sunday 4-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. scripture service at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. The memorial Mass will be Monday 12 noon at the National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak, with the Rev. Edward J. Prus officiating. A private inurnment will be held at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
