Kathleen E. Freeman. Age 77. April 27, 2013.
Ms. Freeman was a Detroit native. She was a graduate of St. Vincent High School and a dedicated hard worker her whole life. She was a proud mother and grandmother, who also loved to share stories about her parents and memories of her youth at the family cabin on Hickory Island. She enjoyed Bingo, crosswords, Solitaire, reading and skyping family members. She was loved by people of all ages. She had a huge fan base and never met a stranger. She loved music of all kinds and the Detroit Tigers. Ms. Freeman had a very happy disposition, was an eternal optimist, and regarded her children as her personal wealth. She was the loving mother of Mark Allen Terri Calder, John Steven Layla Lynn-Winkler Calder, Mary Kathleen Aaron Klein Calder, Ann Marie Suzie Harrison Calder, Allan Matthew Colette Calder and Michael Yvonne Meyers. Proud grandmother of Jamie Calder, Katie Spahn, Seamus Patrick McGovern Calder, Conor O'Neil McGovern Calder, Andy Klein, Paul Giles Deleon, Matthew Quinn Deleon and Kelly Meyers. Ms. Freeman will lie in state Tuesday 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 10 a.m. at the National Shrine of the Little Flower, Royal Oak. Burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
