Karen Burden

Karen M. Burden, age 63, a resident of Royal Oak since 1967, died October 9, 2009 at her home. Wife of Jerry since June 9, 1967; they were married in Harper Woods. Loving mother of Robbyn Manoj Shah, Janelle Jason Hill and Bryce Burden. Dear Sister of Paula Richard Thompson. Proud aunt of many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Burden was active in PTA for many years where she was a past president at Whittier School. She was a Girl Scout and Brownie Leader. She was also on the Royal Oak Library Board for 12 years, a former x-ray technician at Beaumont Royal Oak, and a current board member of the Royal Oak Historic Study Committee. Visitation Wednesday 5-8 p.m. and Thursday 1-8 p.m. Funeral service Friday 10 a.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Rd. 4 blocks E. of Woodward, Royal Oak.
