Junious B. Jinkins of Clarkston, formerly a 37-year resident of Royal Oak, passed away on November 13, 2008, at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by Barbara, his wife of 44 years. He was the father of Jeffery Patricia Jinkins of Center Line, Jennifer Gilley of Texas, and Janet Dave Wilson of Clarkston. He was the proud grandfather of Danielle Kinsey, Michelle Gilley, Alan and Marcus Jinkins, Joshua and Nathan Wilson and great-grandfather of Madison Lynn Kinsey. He is also survived by his brother, Bill Jinkins, of Chicago. Mr. Jinkins was born, the youngest of eight children, in west Tennessee, on September 14, 1930, to Will and Sadie. He served as a photographer in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952, stationed in Pensacola, San Diego, Hawaii and Japan. He and Barbara married in November of 1957. Mr. Jinkins retired from Ameritech, formerly Michigan Bell, in 1987 after 30-plus years as a test man. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He found fellowship at CWA Local 4008 Retired Members Club. He also enjoyed reading the newspaper and watching college football and basketball on TV. Visitation will be Monday, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile Road, Royal Oak, with the Rev. Martin Hall officiating.
