June Whitnell

June C. Whitnell, age 83, a resident of Royal Oak since 1966, passed away at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan on March 29, 2014. She was born September 22, 1930 in Peterborough, Ontario. Mrs. Whitnell was a proud homemaker and was very generous in donating to various charities. She had a passion for collecting dolls of many sorts ranging from Princess Diana to Queen Elizabeth tributaries. She was the loving wife of Alfred "Joe" Whitnell, whom she married on July 18, 1953 in Peterborough, Ontario; dear mother of four children, Catherine Gary Doan, Joe Whitnell, Jeff the late Karen Whitnell and Tracey Whitnell; proud grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her great-grandson, Brandon Kailer Hagan; siblings, Eleanor Gardner, Mary Delahaye, Isabelle Buzzell, Jean Adamson, Donald Delahaye and Gordon Delahaye, parents, Herbert and Margaret Delahaye. Visitation will be Monday 4-8 p.m., Tuesday 2-8 p.m. and services Wednesday 1 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak.
