June E. Smiley, age 90, a resident of Dryden, Michigan passed away February 7, 2014 in Richmond. She was born June 2, 1923 in Pikeville, Kentucky. June enjoyed working crossword puzzles and word searches. She was the eldest sister of The House of David Baptist Church in Imlay City, Michigan. June was an accomplished and published writer of poetry and also her own auto-biography. Her cooking and chicken-dumplings were a family favorite. She loved playing cards and from time to time was known to pull a fast one to favor her odds of winning. One of her favorite things was singing with her husband Ermon. Her gentle loving spirit will be missed. Beloved wife of Ermon for 4 years. Dear mother of Zenyth Conner, Lue Jack Heacock, , Rudy Mary Lyons, Eddie Pat Smith, Helen Willis, Dean Vanessa Smiley, Ernie Brenda Smiley, and Carol Maddox. Most loved mamaw, great-mamaw, and great-great mamaw of many. June is also survived by many other loving family members and friends. June is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Smith of 63 years.
