Juanita Smith

Juanita 'Nita' Mae McCoy Smith, 75, died July 13, 2008 at her home in Newcastle, WY.
She was born September 22, 1932 to Raymond and Iona Mae Procunier McCoy on the family ranch north of Newcastle where she spent her early childhood years.
She attended Newcastle public schools where she was an active participant in cheerleading. Upon graduation she would move to Casper, WY to continue her education.
She met James Warren Smith and the two would marry on February 10, 1953. After a brief marriage, she and her two daughters would return to Newcastle where Nita began work at the Weston County Courthouse. She would serve the public for 39 years, including 24 years as Deputy Clerk of Courts; however her real life's work was caring for her brothers, daughters, and grandchildren.
She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, solving crossword puzzles, and playing board games with her family.
Survivors include her two daughters Rhonda Aileen Purviance and Catherine Anne Jones of Newcastle; her two brothers Doug McCoy and Wilbur Norma Lease of Newcastle; five grandchildren, Becky Jason Eatherton of Rapid City, SD, Brad Jones, Jason Jody Purviance, and Todd Amanda Purviance of Newcastle, and Levi Jones of Hartville, WY; four great-grandchildren, Aspen and Brecken Eatherton of Rapid City, SD, and Peyton and Zachary Purviance of Newcastle, as well as a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and twin brothers Ray and Roy McCoy.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, July 17th at Worden Funeral Home in Newcastle.
Services will be 2 pm Friday, July 18th at the Methodist Church in Newcastle, WY with graveside services to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Bread Office at PO Box 384, Newcastle, WY 82701.
