Juan Sarate

Juan Sarate, age 72, a lifelong resident of Royal Oak, died April 3, 2010 in Rochester Hills. He was born April 7, 1937 in Royal Oak. Mr. Sarate retired from the General Motors Lake Orion Plant. He was an avid Pistons fan and enjoyed going to the Royal Oak Senior Center, aka "the office". He lived life to the fullest. He is survived by his sons, Steven Sheri Sarate and Rick Kim Sarate; siblings, Frank Sarate, Maria-Elena Sarate and Florencia Bowring; grandchildren, Chris, Justin, Stephanie, Kyle and Kolton; dear friend, Margie Zelko; and former spouse, Connie Podulka. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Sarate; siblings, Consuelo Sarate, Korean War Veterans, Manuel and Salvadore Sarate and Noz Sarate. There will be a chapel service on Friday 1:30 p.m. at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
