Joyce Snoor

Snoor, Joyce A. nee Rusk age 77, joined her husband in heaven on Sunday, August 19, 2012 after a short illness. She was born October 11, 1934 in Fairfield, IA to the late John and Leona Julia Rusk. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert P. Snoor Sr., who passed the same morning and her beautiful granddaughter, Katie Cassidy in 2005. Joyce graduated from Libertyville High School in Iowa, where she was a standout athlete and a member of the Iowa AAU "Redheads" basketball team. Joyce became a licensed beautician where she met "Bob" and they began their lives together. She raised her family in Columbus, Ohio and Utica, Michigan where their home was the central gathering place for the neighborhood. She was a wonderful cook, seamstress and homemaker who constantly served her community. She was involved in the many activities of her children helping the girl scouts, boys scouts, band boosters and church youth groups with meals and support. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her four children Diane Jeff Jaye of Utica, Michigan, Robert Jr. of Rome City, Indiana, Connie Richard Campbell of Miamisburg, Ohio and Roger of Sterling Heights, Michigan, eight grandchildren Christina Russ Smith, Daniel Cassidy, Elizabeth Snoor, Tyler Campbell, Travis Campbell, Roger Snoor, Jr., Brittany and Julia Ventline, two great-grandchildren Lauren and Ryan Smith, sisters Jean Floyd Laughlin, Charlotte Joseph McClain, Chrissy late Jerry Ogden, brothers Mitchell and Tom late Donna Rusk, other family members and friends. The family will receive friends Thursday 3:00pm-9:00pm at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road 3 blks east of VanDyke Utica, with a private family funeral service.
