Joseph Stepulla, 65, from Sterling Heights; passed away November 16 after almost a 3 year aggressive battle with cancer. He was born Dec. 22, 1947 in Hamtramck, Michigan. Beloved husband of Sherry Sillette Stepulla, his wife of 43 years and beloved father of Joseph Katie Wagner and daughter Stephanie, grandfather to Emma Grace. He is also survived by his sisters, Joyce Deleeuw and JacquelineRaymond Yonkowski, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank "Bill" and Rose Stepulla. After graduating from Osborn High School in 1965, Joe attended WSU for one year and then was drafted into the Army in October, 1967. After returning home from a tour of Vietnam in 1969, Joe began working at Chrysler's Lynch Road Assembly as an electrcian apprentice and continued to work there after becoming a journeyman. After 13 years at Chrysler, Joe was laid off and the following fall began working at the new GM Lake Orion Aseembly plant as an electrician. He retired from GM Lake Orion Assembly plant in April 2008. He enjoyed two years of retirement before his diagnosis. He was an avid and skilled bowler, enjoying many trips with the ABC amateur bowling tournament with his team from Lake Orion Assembly plant for over 20 years. During his first summer of retirement, Joe joined a senior bowling league and found many new friends and was able to return to his love of softball, enjoying softball 5 days a week with the senior league. Joe always said that he was the "go to man" and that he "batted third" all his life. One of his favorite phrases was "I loved my life". We will always love and remember him. Rest in Peace.
