Joseph Frank Jeannette II of Arlington, Virgina, passed away on March 24, 2010 at Community Hospice of Washington. He was 31 years of age. Joseph was born on April 26, 1978 in Mount Clemens, Michgian to Claudia and Joseph Jeannette. A 1997 graduate of Utica High School, Joseph earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech Rhetoric from Hillsdale College in 2001. Upon graduation, Joseph moved to the Washington D.C. area to begin his career. Joseph served on the staffs of U.S Congressman Mike Rogers, U.S. Congressman Fred Upton and U.S. Senator George Allen. Joseph married Karen Makar on October 14, 2006 at Lutheran Church of the Reformation. Washington D.C. Joseph and Karen settled in Arlington, Virginia in 2008. During his career in Washington Joe continued his education, earning a Masters Degree of Science in Engineering Management and a Graduate Certificate in Homeland Security Emergency Preparedness and Response from George Washington University. Prior to his passing, Joe held the position of Senior Program Manager for the United States Senate Sergeant at Arms. Joe was an active member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and an avid supporter of local law enforcement and emergency response agencies. Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Karen Makar Jeannette of Arlington, VA, parents Claudia and Joseph F. Jeannette of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan and sister Anne Michael Klaskin of Winnetka, Illinois along with a niece and nephew. He was predeceased by grandparents, Marietta and Frank Jeannette and Katherine and Norman Blank. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 375 Lothrop at Chalfonte, Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan 48236 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be prior to the service starting at 9:30 a.m. A memorial service will be held in the future in Washington D.C. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to the Joseph F. Jeannette II Foundation. Donations will benefit Sidney Kimmell Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Dr. Ilene S. Browner and Frank E. Jeannette Junior High School in Utica Community Schools.
