John Rau

Rau, John "Leonard" Age 87, of Royal Oak, February 17, 2011. Beloved husband of Eleanor for over 60 years. He was the son of the late Joseph Earl and Doretta Shanahan Rau. Dear brother of Harold Melba Rau, and the late Earl Eleanor Rau. Dear brother-in-law of Anna Jack Sherwin, and the late Joseph Slisinger. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and godchildren. Leonard touched the lives of many people with wonderful gift of conversation and brilliant mind. He was engaging until the very end. Visitation Sunday 2-9 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Wm. Sullivan & Son 705 W. Eleven Mile Road. In state Monday 9:30 am at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 50 E. Annabelle, Hazel Park until time of Service at 10:00am.
