John Parent

John "Jack" Parent, age 94, passed away at his home in Warren on Friday, May 25, 2012. Jack was preceded in death by his wife Betty. He was the loving father of Merton Patricia, Melanie Charles Wasson and Phillip Blair. Jack was also a proud grandfather of Nicole, John Jennifer, Eric Jennifer, Brian Dana, Lauren Christopher and Jordyn; great grandfather of Roman, Grace, Rachel, Evan and Nolan. Mr. Parent served his country for four and a half years in the Army Air Corp. where he played the saxophone in the 24th Army Air Force Band. Jack went on to work at Jones & Laughlin Steel for over 40 years. There was a private committal service with military honors at Acacia Park Cemetery on May 30. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Royal Oak. Arrangements by Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, Royal Oak, 248-541-7000.
