John K. Hill, age 78, of Troy, Michigan passed away November 7, 2012. He was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan on August 14, 1934, upstairs from a family-owned bakery. John graduated from Wilbur Wright High School and received a bachelor's degree from the University of Detroit in 1965. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was a retired design engineer from Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan. Family members that preceded John in death were his mom and dad, Mary and Kenneth Hill; brother, Henry "Elwyn" Hill; and two sisters, Patricia Lockwood and Margret Bunkovich. He is survived by his "bride" Janet Craigie. They were married almost 59 years ago and shared a longtime hobby of breeding and showing standard Wirehaired Dachshunds producing many champions. John is also survived by his sons, Craig Debbie Hill and Randall Hill; daughter, Carolyn Daryl DePottey; four grandchildren, Kendra, Maxwell, Brian and Melissa; and four great grandchildren, with two more on the way! Private services will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. We will all miss him!
