Buchalski, John H.
Age 82, passed away August 4, 2010 at his residence. Born September 17, 1927 in Detroit. Retired from Utica Community Schools as a principal after 35 years. Met President Nixon in 1972 at the dedication of Eishenhower High School. Mr. Buchalski was a journeyman carpenter, he enjoyed fixing and remodeling homes as a hobby. He also went on to get his builders licence. He graduated from Eastern University 1951, where he played football and received a bachelors degree. He graduated from U of M in 1955 with a masters degree in education, received an education specialist degree in 1964 from Wayne State. He was also a World War II Navy veteran.
Beloved husband of Lorraine. Loving father of Brian, Dean, and the late Thomas, Claudia Hagen, Diane Marie Nice-Stewart-Buchalski, Brenda Buchalski, and Audrey Walsh-Buchalski. Proud grandfather of Melissa Porter, Nicki Nice, Rebecca Walsh, and Dean Stewart. Dear great grandfather of Jacob Porter. Brother of Irene Susitko, and the late Dorothy Snay. Visitation at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Rd. 3 blocks E. of Van Dyke, Utica, on Saturday 4-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Instate Monday 9:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 44633 Utica Rd. between Van Dyke and M-59, Utica, until time of the mass at 10 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
