Joann Marie Anger Nee Alward
Age 75 passed away peacefully Friday, January 30, 2009 surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Joann was born July 8, 1933 in Washington, Michigan, the daughter of the late Walter and Harriet Alward. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Allen Dale Anger and her five children Duane Valerie Anger of Shelby Twp, Donald Kitsi Anger of Ortonville, Larry Laura Anger of Rochester, Sally Steve LaPeer of Macomb Twp and Sandra Anger of Sterling Heights, ten grandchildren, Heather, Heidi, Brad, Jennifer, Katie, Jeremy, Timothy, Stephanie, Catherine, Patrick and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Betty Bock, William Alward, Kathleen Napper, Gerald Alward and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Walter Dugan Alward and sisters Arla Robb, Marguerite Bromley and Shirley Schmitt. Joann worked for Washington Elementary for many years and after that could be found behind the bakery counter at the family business Alward Market in Washington where she always had a cookie for any child she greeted. Visitation Wednesday, February 4, 2009 from 4pm to 8pm at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home 8459 Hall Rd. 3 Blks E. of Van Dyke Utica.
