Joan Stern

Joan Carol Starkweather Stern, age 71, passed peacefully on March 19, 2009. Beloved wife of Joseph Stern Jr., devoted mother of Eric Julie and Bradley Kelly, dear sister of Barbara Ron Osburn and Carolyn the late Robert Dillon, and loving grandmother to Gabrielle and Emma. Joan was an agent at Prudential Cranbrook Realtors, past treasurer of Alpha Xi Delta sorority, former president and treasurer of Birmingham Kiwanis Club, past treasurer of the Salvation Army Royal Oak Women's Auxiliary, and corresponding secretary and board member of the Birmingham-Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra. Donations may be made to Beaumont Hospice or the Salvation Army Royal Oak Women's Auxiliary. A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, April 18, at the Salvation Army Royal Oak Citadel.
