Joan Jones

Joan Jones, age 83, a resident of Royal Oak for more than 50 years, died Saturday, December 27, 2008, in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born June 27, 1925, in Independence, KS. Mrs. Jones was a member of the P.E.O. She was also a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak and very active in Bible study. She is survived by her daughter, Whitney C. John Knight of Fort Wayne, IN and daughter-in-law, Jo Ellen Jones Scorse of Joplin, MO; and grandchildren, Bradford Knight of San Diego, CA, David Knight of Erie, CO, Jacqueline Knight of Elmhurst, IL and Kathryn Ryan McNeill of Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Lee Jones, on October 3, 2007. The couple were married on May 25, 1946, in Stillwater, OK; son, Scott Jones; and sister, Carol Wood Dwyer. A memorial visitation will be held Friday 10 a.m. until the time of service 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Royal Oak, with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Rice officiating.
