Joan Hansen

Joan L. Hansen, age 82, formerly a resident of Royal Oak, died June 2, 2012 at Heartland Health Care Center - Dorvin in Livonia. She was born April 4, 1930 in Bessemer Township, MI to the late William and Delia Hansen. Miss Hansen entered the Dominican Order of Sisters in 1948. She resided in Ferndale as her mother's caretaker until her death in 1978. She then moved to the Royal Oak Manor, where she had many good friends. She is survived by her siblings, Susan Hulett, James Hansen of Nebraska, Carol James McMahon of Rochester, Mary Donald McGuire of Clarkston and David Hansen of Alabama; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. There will be a Memorial Mass Friday, June 22, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak. Memorials to the American Cancer Society appreciated.
