THOMPSON Jr., Jewel E. age 80. Died July 3, 2007. Mr. Thompson was born on December 1, 1926 in Black Rock, Arkansas to Jewel Everett and Flossie nee Anderson Thompson. Jewel's mother Flossie passed away when he was just 9 years old. He joined the United States Army and served in the Army Signal Corps. He was stationed in New Jersery and New York. When he was out of the Army, he met Gladys A. White. The were married on July 4, 1949 when she was just 16 and he was 22. He retired after over 30 years as a Precision Gage Inspector on military equipment for Cadillac Gage Company, in Michigan. They had four children. Mrs. Thompson shared his pleasures in life as being: horse racing he even attended the Kentucky Derby, going to Las Vegas, boating on Lake St. Clair, and truly treasured his family and friends. They moved to Arizona in 1989 due to Mr. Thompson's health conditions. They spent the best years of their lives together for 58 years. Mr. Thompson died one day before their 58th wedding anniversary. He will lie to rest in Black Rock, Arkansas next to his mother Flossie, whom he always missed deeply. He is survived by his loving wife Gladys. His children: Brenda Gerald McCarty, Bobby Marilyn Thompson, the late David Thompson died in 1986 and Dennis Thompson. Also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren with one more on the way! Brothers: Robert "Bobby" Mary Thompson of Golden Valley, Arizona and Joe Thompson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, step-sisters, Audrey Dodder, Thelma Jernukian, Notrie Screws, Step-brother Willard H. Franks, Half brother, Jerry Thompson and half-sister,the late Anita Landrum.
