Jennie Colosimo, age 91, died at her Royal Oak, MI residence with family at her side on March 19, 2011. Jennie was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois. In 1937, she moved to the Detroit area where she met Edward J. Colosimo. They married in 1939 and remained soul mates until Edward's death in 1996. Jennie and Ed moved to Royal Oak in 1948, where she continued to reside until her death. They were both active members of the National Shrine of the Little Flower Church. She especially enjoyed the Shrine golf and bowling leagues. She, along with Ed, participated in many parish functions, school activities and sporting events of her children and grandchildren. Jennie's main goal in life was to care for her family. She was an excellent cook. The Colosimo home was often the site of dinners for friends and family, and it was always open to school friends of her children. Jennie and Ed enjoyed traveling around the world and spending time and travel opportunities with their grandchildren. The bond of love and respect between the grandchildren and grandparents was strong and special. Jennie is survived by her children Donald Donna of Saratoga Springs, NY and Sandra Lou Kasischke of Harbor Springs, MI. She was a loving grandmother to Douglas and Gregg Kasischke and Lisa and Marc Colosimo. Great grandmother to 3. In state Saturday 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass 10:00 a.m. at National Shrine of the Little Flower Church, Royal Oak.
