Jeanne Marie Marchildon McGillivary, age 74, of Royal Oak, loving wife and mother, died in her sleep Oct. 11, 2011 following a spirited battle with cancer and pulmonary disease. Jeanne was born in Detroit to Raymond and Florence Fitzgerald Marchildon. She earned a nursing degree from Highland Park Community College in 1956, the same year she married Joseph Frank McGillivary. While raising four children Jeanne worked for several doctors in Royal Oak, taught nursing classes, and later worked as a medical claims investigator for Aetna until her retirement. She is survived by her husband; daughter, Dianne Charles Dagher; sons, Michael and Brian Rebecca; sister, Joanne King; cousin, Linda Odman; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheryl and daughter-in-law, Pam. The visitation will be Friday 3-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. scripture service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. A memorial Mass will be held Saturday 12 noon at the National Shrine of the Little Flower, Royal Oak. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International.
