Jeanette Baker Laga-Thompson, age 96, a resident of Venice, FL, formerly of Royal Oak, died August 18, 2010 at Venice Regional Medical Center. She was born September 18, 1913 in Detroit. Mrs. Thompson lived most of her life in Royal Oak and was a graduate of Royal Oak High School. She retired from Clark Oil Company in Royal Oak and was a past member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She spent the last 26 years in Venice, FL and was a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by her sons, Donald F. Laga, Michael A. Laga and William G. Kristine Laga; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter Thompson and George Laga; parents, Frederick and Gertrude Parks Baker; and siblings, Peter Baker and Bernice Van Doorn Knapp. The visitation will be Monday 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday 2-8 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. The service will be Wednesday 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
