Jean is predeceased by her loving husband, Stanley C., whom she married in Hazel Park on February 11, 1950. She was the loving mother of Gail David Sr. York, Gary Durnion, Dooge Beverly Durnion, Stephen Audrey Durnion, Thomas Kelly Durnion and the late Rick Durnion. Proud Grandmother of Colleen Vorel, Cheryl Gary Kaczmarczyk, Dale Erin Durnion, Scott Durnion, Bryan Jessica Durnion, Jeffrey Andrea Durnion, Lindsay Derek Brazeau, David Stephanie York Jr., Emily Durnion, Sarah Durnion, Jake Durnion and Danielle Durnion. Dear Great Grandmother of Shane, Caitlyn, Hayden, Madison, Evan, Lana, Madison and Brenden. Dear sister of Vera Eugene Pirl, Alma Norm Mackie, Dale Sharon Sawyers, Joyce Jacks and the late Robert Sawyers. Sister in law of Joanne Sawyers. Jean was a loving wife, proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Jean's outgoing spirit will be missed by family and friends. "Mother" as she was called by many will always be remembered for her love of cooking for a crowd, her amazing strawberry jam, altering your clothes even at the last minute, helping with sewing projects, doing crossword puzzles, her love of Elvis and Wheel of Fortune. We will miss the always full jar of M & M's waiting on the table and borrowing her gossip and People magazines. Visitation will take place Tuesday from 4-9 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Road 4 blocks E. of Woodward, Royal Oak. Funeral service will take place Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan.
