Janavice Brancheau

Brancheau, Janavice C., age 88, a resident of Royal Oak since 1951, died May 27, 2012 in Charlevoix, MI. She was born October 5, 1923 in New York City, New York. Mrs. Brancheau was a very active parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak since 1962, and longtime volunteer at the Clothes Closet. She was the St. Mary's Grade School secretary from 1977-1980 and the St. Mary's High School secretary from 1981-1984. Mrs. Brancheau also was a precinct volunteer for the Royal Oak elections. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth W. Brancheau, Sr.; the couple married June 22, 1946 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe Park. She is survived by her children, Mary Lou O'Keefe of San Diego, CA, Peggy Mullenniex of Berkley, Patrick Joan Brancheau of Bloomfield, Jane Brancheau of Royal Oak, Jerry Brancheau of Royal Oak, Kenneth Mary Brancheau, Jr. of White Lake, Elaine Carlisle of Royal Oak, Charles Cindi Brancheau of Aurora, IL, Jon Ann Wayne MacKenzie of Royal Oak and Megan Cooley Smith of Waxhaw, NC; 23 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Sister of Marie Shank, Peggy Gaabo and Charles Caren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Brancheau in 1965 and son, Michael Brancheau in 2008. The visitation will be Wednesday 2-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. scripture service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mrs. Brancheau will lie in state Thursday 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak. Inurnment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
