James Wells

James M. Wells, age 81, a resident of Madison Heights for 54 years, died January 3, 2010 at his home. He was born December 31, 1928 in Campbell County, TN. Mr. Wells was a World War II U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired from Byrnes Plywood in 1990 after 27 years of service as a truck driver. He is survived by his children, Joseph Judith Wells of Madison Heights, William Wells of Houston, TX, Carol Thompson of Hazel Park, Linda Gary McMinn of Madison Heights and Robert Wells of Warren; brothers, Roy Wells and Troy Wells; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret M. Wells, on February 20, 1997; son, James Wells; and siblings, Floyd Wells, Anne May Bowman, Everett Wells, Ruby Holsten and R.L. Wells. The visitation will be held Tuesday 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday 1-8 p.m. and service Thursday 10 a.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak, with the Rev. Dale Hunter officiating. The burial will take place at Christian Memorial Cultural Center in Rochester Hills.
