James Carr

June 14, 1949 — December 23, 2008

Mr. Carr died at his home in Little Rock, Arkansas on December 23, 2008 following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Carr was born June 14, 1949 at Hot Springs, South Dakota the son of Myron G. and Evelyn P. Brennan Carr. He attended grade school in Osage, Wyoming and was a graduate of Newcastle High School. Following graduation he was employed as a jockey racing quarter horses.
On February 10, 1971 he married Dorothy Jarred. They were the parents of two children; Randy and Sherry. They made their home in Stroud Oklahoma and for twenty years he continued to race throughout the South and from Colorado to New Mexico until ill health forced him to retire and move to Little Rock.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was loved by all who knew him. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving him are his children, Randal Jennifer Carr of Chandler, Oklahoma and Sherry Jim Dean of Prague, Oklahoma; his mother Evelyn Carr of Newcastle; a brother Kenneth Cheryl Carr of Casper, WY; three sisters, Jean Lee Benshoof of Klamath Falls, OR, Myra Richard Galligan of Centennial, CO, and Elaine Baron Burns of Lake Montezuma, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his father Myron Carr and sister Betty Jo Carr.
