James Franklin Calhoun, age 80, a resident of Royal Oak for more than 46 years, passed away July 1, 2014 at Cambridge North Healthcare Center in Clawson. He was born April 2, 1934 in Detroit to the late James and Ruth Calhoun. Mr. Calhoun was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a self-employed carpet installer and enjoyed spending time at his cottage on the lake. He loved dogs and John Wayne and was a member of the Ferndale Elks. He was the loving father of Jeffrey Jeanne Calhoun and James Calhoun; proud grandfather of Jimmy, Jeffrey, Brittney and Nicholas Calhoun; great grandfather of Grady; dear brother of Doris Morehart and Thomas Calhoun; and uncle of Linda, Sandy, Janet, Lisa and the late Bob. The visitation will be Wednesday 2-8:30 p.m. and service Thursday 10 a.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak.
