James Bolding

James “Jim” Thomas Bolding passed away peacefully at Weston County Hospital in Newcastle, WY late Saturday, January 13, 2024, after a sudden decline in his health. He was 88 years old. He clasped Jesus’ hand who ushered him to heaven. He is now "tickling the ivories" before God and the angels, and all who knew him are thrilled for this glorious conclusion to a well-received life.

Jim was born on September 7, 1935, to William "Bill" A. and Erie J. (Floyd) Bolding in El Dorado, Arkansas. It was there that he married Lynn Post on November 3, 1962. Following his death, they were married for 62 years.

A child prodigy of the piano, he performed classical music for the American social and political elite. His music led to the creation of pipe organs, and later the tuning of cathedral organs. Initially, he served in the Arkansas National Guard where he obtained radio and communication engineering from Ouachita Baptist College in Arkadelphia, AR.

Jim used this training on radio and television (KTVE) throughout South Arkansas and Northwest Louisiana, but soon was distracted by the offshore oilfields. His employer sent the family to Wyoming during the 1970’s oil “boom,” and they found a new land to call home. Before long, Jim established his own business (Drill Site Security Systems, Inc.) as an ingenious way to endure the uncertain energy industry.

Dedicated to service as his father before him, Jim became a Master Mason (Independence Rock Lodge, No. 56), a 33 degree Freemason (Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of the Valley of Cheyenne Orient), and a Shriner (Korein Temple of Wyoming). After retirement, they managed Fort Caspar Campground for the Izaak Walton League in Casper, then enjoyed hosting campgrounds nationwide until he returned to Newcastle to live close to his family.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, grandparents, aunts, uncles; and his parents-in-law, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law, respectively. In addition to his wife, survivors include John, Jim, Brenda, Dianna, and Renee, and their spouses, Kim, Kathy, Hunt, and James as well as his multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended relations, friends, and of course, his loving dog, Princess. They continue to celebrate his life across this Great Nation.

As an organ donor, Jim asked for cremation. The family was obliged by Meridian Mortuary in Newcastle, and no services are scheduled.
