Henry "Hank" Nader born on May 25, 1931. Hank and Lorraine have been married for 55 wonderful years. They have three children, Gary, Lori and Cathy, and eight grandchildren, Alex Emming, Lauren Hanrahan, Matthew Nader, Veronica Hanrahan, Nicholas Emming, Nicole Nader, Garrett Nader and Jacob Emming. His children and grandchildren were one of the biggest, proudest and happiest things in his life. As children, the grandkids couldn't wait to come visit Grandpa, he always had goodies in his pockets and fun slot machines, gumball machines and little gadgets to play with when visiting grandpa and grandma. Hank worked for 37 years at General Motors, beginning as a metal modelmaker, promoted to supervisor and then became an engineer. Hank retired at the age of 54 in 1987. Hank loved his job, and rumor has it he was a tough cookie, as a boss, on the outside, but a softy on the inside. Hank made many long-term and great friends from GM, and up to this day they still had many get-togethers. Hank served his country as a Medic in the U.S. Army. During his retirement, Lorraine and Hank spent their winters at their condo in Florida, with frequent visits from family and friends. They thoroughly enjoyed golfing, traveling, entertaining. Hank loved building model planes, ships, cars. He enjoyed his many soduko and crossword puzzles daily, and even a board puzzle building with his grandchildren when he could get them to sit still with him. Hank loved to listen to the old radio shows, watch nostalgic TV shows, and he really enjoyed gardening in his own large vegetable garden that he fed the whole family with fresh vegetables when we stopped by to visit that we were thrilled to receive. The Nader family is a member of St. George Orthodox church, and has been for many generations. At St. George Hank and Lorraine have many close friends that are considered family, too many to mention. Hank comes from a large, close-knit family.. All of his siblings are boys, two sets of twins, which he was one of the twins. The whole Nader clan, Victor, Phillip, Henry, Alec and Robert and their wives were and are very close, not much that they did not do without each other. They did their doctor appointments, casino's, Florida trips, Eastern Market and many other things together. Many of the family gatherings and trips, also included Lorraine's family, the Sophiea's, which made the holidays and special occasions a very memorable experience when we all get together, share, laugh, have cocktails and eating burgers, bbq and Syrian/Lebanese fare. Lucky for the huge extended family, Hank was always documenting the momentous occasions with his video camera, and we are so thankful, especially at this time for that.
Hank is missed and loved by all. Family will receive friends at Wm.
