Helen Strever passed into our Lord?s arms on October 10, 2007 at her home in Newcastle, WY following a courageous battle with Cancer.

Helen was born on January 3, 1940 to Omar and Ruth Henrikson Green in Ray, MN. She was the sixth of eight children. She attended schools in the area and graduated from Falls High in 1958. She married Don Kennedy of Little Fork, MN and to this union two children were born, Anthony Tony and Dana Kennedy. In 1973 she married Merl Harp. They moved to Wyoming to work for Boise Cascade where Helen was an executive secretary. They then co-founded Powder River Timber in Osage, WY. In 1992 she married Preston V. Strever where she welcomed three step children, Codi, Kacy and Kelly into her family. She was co-founder of P&H Preston & Helen Systems.
Hobbies that Helen enjoyed were many. She played softball, bowled, knitted, sewed and gardened. She loved music, singing, dancing and enjoyed tractor pulling with Preston and the Green Mountain Tractor Club. She spent many years contributing to the community with Woman?s Club, United Fund, and many others. She worked at the Senior Center and loved visiting with the people. She worked with R.E.N.E.W. and loved all the people she worked with. She retired from the kitchen at the Elementary School this past spring which was difficult for her because she enjoyed it so much.
Helen was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She enjoyed spending any time she could with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She could always be found following their activities no matter where they lived or what they were. She was a very accomplished cook and entertainer. She loved to prepare meals for her friends and family. There was always an abundance of food when Helen was in the kitchen. Helen seized every moment and really enjoyed life. She touched so many lived in a very positive way. She will be so greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She was the light of our lives.
Preceding her in death were her parents, step father Walter Lindvall, two brothers, Charles Bud and Gerald Buzzy Green. Sisters Lois Weum, Charlotte Fernette, Shirley Hull and Geraldine Peggar.
Helen is survived by husband Preston Strever; sons Anthony Nora Kennedy, Kelly Melissa Strever; daughters Dana Glenn Gordon, Codi John Mitchell and Kacy Curt Laingen. Grandchildren Teresa and Tabatha Kennedy, Aubrey and Devon Kudlock, Megan, Billie and Wade Gordon, Alan and Katy Mitchell, MacKenzie Reffalt, Preston T. Strever, Hailey and Kayla Cox. Great-grandchildren Tyren Scott. Sister Doris Gene Reeves and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
