Helen I. Lavely, age 96, of Warren, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at Woodward Hills Nursing Center, Bloomfield Hills. She was born February 6, 1912, in Marshall, MI. Mrs. Lavely made her home in Royal Oak for 13 years before moving to Sterling Heights and then Warren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Royal Oak and a member of the Homemakers of the First Baptist Church in Royal Oak. She was also an avid reader. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Sue Kenny of Warren; grandson, Kenneth Beverly Kenny of Huntley, IL; great grandchildren, Todd Natalie Kenny of Aurora, IL, Summer Allister Scott of Winfield, IL and Stacy Kenny of Glendale Heights, IL; great-great grandchildren, Riley Scott and Tyler Wallace; and sister, Marjorie Robinson of Vienna, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan Lavely in 1964; and son-in-law, Hugh Kenny. Visitation Thursday 2-8 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. A memorial service will be held Friday 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Royal Oak. The Rev. Dr. David L. Nichols will officiate. Private burial will be at Grand Lawn Cemetery, Detroit.
