Helen Helme

Helen Grace Helme, age 92, of Berkley, died peacefully on February 1, 2014 at Wm. Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born in Royal Oak on December 9, 1921 to the late Joseph and Emma Puvogel. She was most proud of being married to John Wilfred Helme. The couple married September 2, 1942 in Fresno, California. The couple moved to Berkley and they raised three children there. She is survived by her loving children, Joann Chuck Honkala, Jill Richard Kirsammer and Cindy Ted Potter. Helen was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her five brothers. Helen had a passion for gardening, playing the piano and was a huge Detroit Tigers fan. Visitation will be Monday 2-8 p.m. with the funeral service Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak.
