Funeral services for Hazel A. Cullum, 94, will be held at 10:00 am Monday, October 30th at Worden Chapel with Rev. Norm Brotzman officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, October 29th from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Worden Chapel. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Weston Manor Activities Fund.
Hazel Arbie Morse Cullum was born September 12, 1912 to Leo and Lydia Michler Morse in Arthur County, Nebraska. She was the youngest of seven sisters and three brothers. Her family lived in the Sand Hills of Nebraska in a sod house. When she was three years old, her family moved to Newcastle, Wyoming for three years. They moved to Whoopup Canyon, and later to the Starkweather Place in South Dakota where Hazel went to school. She also lived at the old Maris Place on Beaver Creek. Mrs. Cullum went to school at the Keys School near there. The family later lived on the E.V.A. ranch before returning to the Starkweather Place. The family had a sale in 1928 and moved to Oregon for her father?s health. They returned to Newcastle in 1929 where she met and married Marshal Cullum on March 2, 1930. Marshal and Hazel were married for seventy three years.
Mrs. Cullum died Wednesday, October 25th at Weston Manor.
Survivors include a son Max Shirley Cullum; and two daughters, Lorraine Walter Mc Abee and Leone Jerry Nelson. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, four step grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
