Harvey VanDenBrouck

VanDenBrouck, Harvey J. age 83. Life long resident of Shelby Township, Michigan for over 80 years - most of that living on Hall Road. Beloved husband of Florence M. nee Koss VanDenBrouck married for over 59 years. Dear father of Mark Fran VanDenBrouck, Donald VanDenBrouck, and Linda Dale Matz, the late Gerard VanDenBrouck, the late Barbara VanDenBrouck, and the late Sharon VanDenBrouck. Proud grandfather of Madonna, Sherri Lee, Randy, Ryan Cait, Bryan, Melissa, Matthew, and Eli. Great Grandfather to Shaley, Brianna, and Jaden; siblings, Clarence "Butch" VanDenBrouck, Robert "Bob" VanDenBrouck, Donna Kliment, Marilyn Leppek, Richard "Dick" VanDenBrouck and Raymond VanDenBrouck. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceeded in death by siblings: Arline VanDenBrouck, Lillian Hellebuyck, Norman VanDenBrouck, and Henry VanDenBrouck. In 1947, Mr. VanDenBrouck established Van's Welding in Utica, Michigan. Later he expanded the business to include Van's Truck and Trailer. The business operated on Hall Road until 1994 due to the expansion of the M-59/Hall Road. For over 80 years, he was a life time member St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Utica. He was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #2950. He served as a third degree knight and also a past Grand Knight. For over 50 years, he served on the Board of Directors and was an officer of the SLC Credit Union. He was a member of Macomb County Farm Bureau. He was an avid euchre player. He enjoyed snowmobiling and treasured going to the cabin in Baldwin, Michigan; with his family and friends. Visitation is Wednesday, December 13th from 3:00pm-9:00pm with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:00pm and Thursday, December 14th from 2:00pm-9:00pm with a Altar Society Rosary at 3:00pm and parish prayer service at 7:00pm at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road, Utica, Michigan. Friday, December 15th he will lie instate at 11:30 am until time of funeral mass at 12 noon at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 44633 Utica Road, Utica, Michigan. Interment at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Memorials suggested to: St. Lawrence Educational Fund SLEF OR St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
