Harriett Campbell, age 73, of Waterford, died peacefully July 21, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. Harriett was born and raised in Ohio, and came to Michigan to begin working as a teacher. She spent most of her career teaching in Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Detroit, including Guardian Angels, Royal Oak Shrine, and St. Bede. Survived by her husband of 48 years Robert Campbell and children Kathryn Geary, Bruce Katharine Campbell, and Karen John Schuhardt Campbell. Harriett was also the treasured "Nana" to five grandchildren: Joshua, Isabella, Courtney, Sally, and Campbell. Harriett enjoyed swimming, watching the Detroit Tigers, and especially loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events and dance recitals. Memorial visitation will be Friday, July 25, 2014 from 3-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. scripture service at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile Road, in Royal Oak. Funeral will be 9:30 a.m. in state and 10:00 a.m. Mass, Saturday, July 26 at National Shrine of the Little Flower Church, corner of Twelve Mile Road and Woodward Avenue, in Royal Oak.
