Hansel Q. Calley, 77, of Ferndale, died March 30, 2008, at his home. He was born Oct. 7, 1930, in Carlisle, AR. Mr. Calley was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 374 in Berkley. He retired as a machinist and toolmaker. He was also a member of the Northside Baptist Church. Mr. Calley is survived by his wife, Ann Calley nee Zarkis, whom he married June 6, 1953; children, Linda Douglas Pompili, David Denise Calley, Lisa Steve Sczesny, Denise Noon, Donna Cooper and Laura Calley; siblings, Marion Polly Calley, Joyce Oswald and Panza James Jones; sister-in-law, Betty White; grandchildren, Keith, Alex and Brandon Mary Grace Calley, Lindsay Fabian Perez, Halley and Emily Cooper, Kelsey and Danielle Sczesny, Dylan Marshall, Quinton and Kent Noon, Trenton Crosby and Jason Pompili; and great grandchildren, Nico and Keira Calley and Kaden Brown. He was predeceased by his parents, Chester and Mabel Lindsay Calley; and siblings, Denver White and Omega the late Edward Stock.
