Gustav C. VanRyckeghem, age 81, a resident of Shelby Twp. since 1946, passed away March 3, 2013 at Wm. Beaumont Hospital, Troy. Gus was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a founding member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church where he served as a greeter and an usher and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 11957. He was also a member of the Rambling Roses Sr. Citizens. Beloved husband of Marie Meerschaert VanRyckeghem whom he married on Sept. 4, 1954. Dear father of Thomas Gail, Donald, Ann Marie Rick Panoff, Diane Robert Tanghe, David Charlotte, and Jim Lisa. Loving grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Friends may visit at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Rd. 3 blks. E. of Van Dyke Utica on Tuesday from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with K of C Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass Thursday at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, 48115 Schoenherr, Shelby Twp. where he will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. time of Mass.
