Gretchen Lyon

The Lord has taken another angel. Gretchen Ann Lyon, 81 years of life, passed away on August 29, 2012. Gretchen was born and raised in Royal Oak, Michigan and resided in southwest Florida. Gretchen was a great mother, avid tennis player, incredible singer, and had a heart of gold. Gretchen always treated people the way she would want to be treated, and was always giving of herself to others. Gretchen is survived by her son Kendall and spouse Debbie Lyon from Coral Springs, Florida, three grandchildren Kristeena Lyon of West Bloomfield, Michigan, Kelsey and Mackenzie Lyon of Coral Springs. Her sister Janet Burke of Chicago and because of her love for animals, Darci and Dillion Lyon her two favorite dogs. A memorial to celebrate Gretchen's life will be held on September 15, 2012 at the Northbrook Presbyterian Church, Beverly Hills, Michigan. A family greeting will be held at 10 a.m. with Pastor Marjorie Wilhelmi presiding over the service at 11 a.m. After the service, we will be having a buffet lunch for those who would like to stay. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked to support the Alzheimer's Association, The Humane Society or any animal rescue because of her love of animals. The family would like to give special thanks to all her friends that watched over her during her time at the hospital. She knew you were there and was at peace from the love that radiated from all of you.
