Glenna I. Brim, 89, a Royal Oak resident for 30 years, formerly of Lum and Warren, died April 19, 2008 at St. John Oakland Hospital, Madison Heights. She was born Nov. 25, 1918 in Detroit. Mrs. Brim worked for Michigan Bell as a statistical typist before becoming a homemaker. Later in life she learned to drive and became active in the community. Mrs. Brim made rosaries for Our LadyÆs Rosary Makers, was the former president of the WidowÆs Club at St. Rene Goupil in Sterling Heights, worked as a volunteer for the Shrine luncheon room and was a member of the MotherÆs Club. She also volunteered with the American Red Cross, was active in the Lum Organic Gardening Club and enjoyed traveling with the Senior Citizens Group. Mrs. Brim was an avid card player who especially enjoyed playing bridge and card parties. She was a wonderful baker and in recent years she enjoyed star and sky gazing. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with grandchildren Laura Rosenbaum and Patrick Hartley. Mrs. Brim is survived by her children, Marie Albert Porter of Suttons Bay, Thomas Brim of Royal Oak and Susan Mark Hartley of Ferndale; her brother, Edward McCarty of Higgins Lake; her eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Jerome J. Brim, whom she married Nov. 25, 1939; and her sister, Mary Sherlock.
