Glenda Fordyce

Funeral services for long time Weston County resident, Glenda Fordyce, 71, will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, December 12th at Worden Chapel with Marlin Geier officiating. Cremation will follow services. Viewing and visitation will be Thursday, December 11th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Worden Chapel. The family has asked that memorial contributions be given in Glenda's memory to the Alzheimers Wing of Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette or Weston County Junior Rodeo Fund.
Mrs. Fordyce died peacefully December 9th at Pioneer Manor.
Glenda was born December 17, 1936 in Newcastle, Wyoming to John C. and Mary Eva Ballentine Thompson. The family lived many years on the Limestone, near Moon, SD, before moving in to Newcastle. In 1955, Glenda married her best friend and lifetime companion John E. Fordyce in Newcastle.
Glenda had a wonderful sense of humor, and was a kind woman. She opened her home to many folks over the years including some of her kids' friends and claimed them as her own, and they were always welcome in her home. She enjoyed her coa�"workers and all of her friends. Glenda had several occupations including telephone operator, as well as working at the Red Owl, Newcastle Drug and Newcastle Men's Store. She retired from the Wyoming Highway Department after several years of employment. Glenda truly enjoyed her grandkids, and all the family. She loved to "go" and was always the first one in the vehicle if anyone was going anywhere! Glenda was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #2516.
Glenda is survived by her daughters, Janine Wally Uttenhove of Moorcroft, Jolene Craig Deveraux of Newcastle, and son Clint Gnene Fordyce of Faith, SD Six grandchildren, Stacee Rabern, Garet and Jozelle Fordyce, and Abigail, Jake and Cooper Deveraux; brother Marion Thompson and sister Leona Cornella and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers Kenneth, Harlan, Chuck and Leonard Thompson, one sister Flora Wright, her parents, husband, and one infant son.
