Gladys Braxton

Gladys E. Braxton, age 92, a resident of Rochester Hills since 1983, died March 5, 2013 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born May 24, 1920 in Charlotte, MI to the late Charles and Freda Payne. Mrs. Braxton was a wonderful homemaker. She loved reading, doing ceramics and crossword puzzles, fishing and going on Facebook, but most of all she loved her family. She was the beloved wife of the late George O. Braxton, whom she married December 8, 1941 in Napolean, OH. Loving mother of George Vivian Braxton Jr., Janice Andris Revalds, Diane David Davis, Melissa J. Braxton and the late Nancy C. Helton. Proud grandmother of Brian Jennifer Makohn, Scott Libby Makohn, Matthew Char Helton, Heather AC Crews, Brandon Braxton, Adaya Braxton, Elizabeth Braxton, Madeline Braxton, Stephen Hurley, John Hurley, Brian Davis, Leah Davis, Stephen Kaylie Davis, Tim Davis and Rachel Davis. Great grandmother of Matthew Crews, Ryan Crews, Jasmine Crews, Savannah Crews, Jewell Crews, Cody Helton, Aleah Helton, Dax Helton, Brittany Helton, Tyler Helton, Tegan Helton, Cooper Davis, Greyson Davis, Kinsley Creswell, Harper Creswell, Alexandra Makohn, Catherine Makohn, Julianna Makohn and George Makohn. Dear sister of the late Carl Payne, Clair Payne, DeForest "Fossie" Payne, Wilson Payne, Wade Payne and Dorothy Warthen. The visitation will be Friday 3-8 p.m. and service Saturday 11 a.m. at the Wm.
