George Miller

George J. Miller, age 79, a resident of Royal Oak, died February 19, 2010 at Woodward Hills Nursing Center in Bloomfield Hills. He was born January 5, 1931 in Highland Park. Mr. Miller was a retired U.S. federal probation officer. He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Schmitt Miller; the couple married May 22, 1956 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Anderson, IN; children, George Cindy Miller of Royal Oak, Cathleen John Oldani of Royal Oak, Sharon Miller of Royal Oak, James Laurie Miller of Royal Oak, Thomas Holly Miller of Royal Oak and Marianne Steve LaPoint of Royal Oak; 17 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Sr. Marie Therese Miller and Rev. Fr. Frank P. Miller from the Diocese of Columbus, OH. The visitation will be Saturday 5-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mr. Miller will lie in state Monday 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 10 a.m. at the National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak. The burial will take place at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley.
