George Juopperi

January 8, 1919 — November 22, 2009

George H. Juopperi, age 90, a resident of East Tawas since September, formerly of Cadillac, died November 22, 2009 at St. Mary Hospital in Saginaw. He was born January 8, 1919 in Calumet, MI. Mr. Juopperi was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corp veteran. He worked for JED Products/Stanley Door Company for 20 years. He loved hockey and playing his harmonica. He is survived by his sister, Ruth E. Bill McCoy of Greenbush, MI; sisters-in-law, Enith Juopperi of Calumet and Hilda Juopperi of Calumet; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Ruth Krogh Juopperi, on May 1, 2000; parents, Fred and Hilda Juopperi; and siblings, Edward Eleanore Juopperi, Aileen Venard Reaume, Margie Gordon Duncan, Lillian Charles Bonenfant, Edna Eino Kujala, Wayne Hilma Juopperi, Walter Juopperi and Roy Juopperi. The visitation will be held Friday 3-8 p.m. and service Saturday 1 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak, MI, with the Rev. Susan Youmans officiating. The burial will take place at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley. Memorials to Hospice of Michigan, 400 Mack Avenue, Detroit, MI 48201.
