George Ashwell

George C. Ashwell, 56, a lifelong resident of Royal Oak, died February 18, 2009 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He was born November 7, 1952 in Detroit. Mr. Ashwell enjoyed playing billiards and was a former state champion with the Boys and Girls Club. He was very mechanical and liked working on cars in his garage. He especially loved his grandson, Corey. He is survived by his wife, Victoria Ashwell, whom he married on July 25, 1998 in Madison Heights; children, Geoffrey Ashwell, David Stephanie Ashwell, Hayley Ashwell, Desirae Ashwell and Brehana Ashwell; siblings, Jeanne Sehnert, Charles Barb Ashwell, Judy Briggs, Linda Doug Winslow; grandson, Corey; in-laws, Jesus and Dorothy Salazar; and brother-in-law, Michael Salazar. He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Inez Ashwell; and brothers, Doc Ashwell and Bill Ashwell. Visitation will be Friday 3:30-9:00 p.m. and service Saturday 11:00 a.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak, with Chaplain Craig Aue officiating. Burial will be at Washington Cemetery in Carsonville, MI.
