Genevieve Smiecinski

SMIECINSKI, Genevieve Frances of Macomb, Michigan; died on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Evangelical Home, Sterling Heights, Michigan. She was born September 8, 1914; in Detroit, Michigan. She is survived by her children: Raymond Audrey Smiecinski of Waterford, Michigan; Ronald Kathy Smiecinski of Macomb, Michigan; Richard Sandra Smiecinski of Hardwood, Michigan; and Carol Cortlin Marcinkowski of Macomb, Michigan. Eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Her sister: Eleanore Timpa of California. She is preceeded in death by her husband: Mitchell, and her parents: John and Agnes nee Mus Gmyrek. She was a member for over 50 years at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Utica, Michigan. She was a manager of the paint department at Steve's Hardware for over 16 years. She owned and operated her own salon called Rose Arbor Beauty Parlor in Detroit, Michigan. She was an avid gardner, enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Very proud to be a wife, mother, grandmother and friend to others. Visitation will be Thursday, from 1:00 p.m. - 9:00p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road, Utica, Michigan. She will lie in state Friday at 8:30 a.m. until time of funeral mass 9:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 44633 Utica Road, Utica, Michigan; officiating by Father Robert Fisher.
