Genevieve Meitz

GENEVIEVE D. MEITZ, age 81, of Shelby Twp. passed away December 10, 2011 at her daughters residence. She was a lifelong member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church where she was very active in the Woman's Club. She was the founding member and first president of the Utica Civic Orchestra in 1970. Genevieve and her husband Marvin were active in the Utica High School Band Boosters for over 20 years. The Meitz Musical Scholarship was established in their honor at Utica High School. Beloved wife of the late Marvin who passed away June 13, 2003 after 54 years of marriage. Dear mother of Loretta Joseph Syler and Dolores Edward Adams. Loving grandmother of Michael Adams. She will lie in state at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 44633 Utica Rd., Utica on Saturday from 9:30 am until 10:00 am time of Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
