Genevieve Brown

Genevieve L. Brown, age 87, a resident of Indianapolis, IN since 1970, formerly of Royal Oak, MI, died August 10, 2013. Genevieve Lucienne Henriette Brown, was born in Agneaux, Manche, France in 1926. She fell in love with an American GI, Clifton Delor Brown and they married in Paris in 1947. Soon after she adopted a new country and a new life, proudly maintaining her French accent and broken English to the very end, she always brought smiles to her family and friends. Beloved wife of the late Clifton; loving mother of Gary Brown of Indianapolis, Marilyn Louis Fleury of Royal Oak, Denise Steve Cunningham of Indianapolis, Steven Brown of Indianapolis and Robert Ellen Brown of Wilmette, IL; dear sister of Madelaine the late George Veisseire, Josette the late Jacques Mathieu, the late Paul Fronton and Jean Fronton; proud grandmother of Doug Fleury, Gena Rob Stazek, Shandy Dennis Brickler, Jessica Derek Neely, Haley Brown, Stuart Brown and Connor Brown; and great grandmother of Ella, Sofia, Camilla, Zachary, Carter, Chelsea and Nate. Mrs. Brown will lie in state Saturday 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 11 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 50 E. Annabelle, Hazel Park, MI 48030.
