Francie Goode

Frances (Francie Mae Hanson, Fowler, Hiday, Goode) was born in Newcastle, Wyoming on November 14, 1950, to Phyllis and Glenn Hanson. Francie passed away August 6, 2023, on Elk Mountain, near the Wyoming/South Dakota state border.

Francie attended grade school at a one-room schoolhouse, on the Cheyenne River, four miles from home. She attended school with her siblings, cousins, and the neighbor children. The family moved to Edgemont, South Dakota when Francie was starting the fifth grade. She attended high school in Edgemont and played the trombone in the school band. After high school, she attended college at the University of South Dakota, earning a Bachelor’s degree in social science.

Francie is survived by her husband Harvey, son Matt Fowler, sisters; Carolyn (Vern) Johnson, Brenda (Al) Bollwerk, and Roxie (Rusty) Halsey, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, brother Neil Hanson, great-nephew Caleb Hanson and special friend Donna Pollat.
