Frances Scalzi

Frances Mary Rose Scalzi, age 89, a resident of Troy, formerly of Hazel Park, died September 6, 2009 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born October 29, 1919 in Urbana, OH. Miss Scalzi loved writing poems and singing hymns. She taught Sunday school for nine years. Her family said she lived a very selfless and Godly life and was always caring for others. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Summers of Troy; siblings, Lucille Petrocella, Ernest Scalzi, Lena Malkowski, John Scalzi and Ruth Ross; grandchildren, Cathy Paul Joyce and Donna Summers; and many great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Anita Clara, George Scalzi, Margaret Peterson, Catherine Jacobs and Theresa Malkowski. The visitation will be held Wednesday 2-8 p.m. and the service Thursday 11 a.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak, with the Rev.
